NIT visits British Safety Council to establish partnership

NIT’s Director General , Mr. Abdulhameed Alyousef, visited the British Safety Council in London last week (Oct 14th-22nd) to discuss the creation of a collaboration programme for delivering training and professional development of Safety Officers at NIT.

The proposed training will focus on Safety at construction projects, high rise buildings, residential and maintenance. Driven by internationally accredited and recognised courses, the programmes for Safety Professionals will lead to the associated assessment and certification.

NIT participation in the Fifth Saudi Technical Conference and Exhibition

NIT participated in the fifth Saudi Technical Conference and Exhibition as a golden sponsor. The conference was held in Riyadh between the 11th and the 14th of January 2009, under the auspices of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdu-laziz Al Saud. NIT participants* explored the emerging technologies and networked with other scholars, attendees, and industry representatives. NIT has distinguished booth across from Saudi ARAMCO aimed at recruiting young Saudis as part of NIT has strong commitment to develop a national professional cadre in the domains of construction, operation, maintenance, and industry.

NIT continues its mission to provide leadership in developing an educated, prepared and competitive workforce. NIT is now actively involved with the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) to deliver great career and technical education programs. Becoming an ACTE Educational Institution Member signifies a commitment to the career and technical education field as well as support of ACTE.

Founded in 1926, the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) is dedicated to the advancement of education that prepares youth and adults for careers. ACTE is composed of more than 28,000 career and technical educators, administrators, researchers, guidance counselors and others involved in planning and conducting career and technical education programs.

NIT has joined the American Concrete Institute (ACI)

NIT has joined the American Concrete Institute (ACI) as an educational member. ACI is a nonprofit technical and educational society organized in 1904 and is one of the worlds leading authorities on concrete technology.

NIT becomes a part of industrys top education programs of construction, design, products, materials, and other technologies related to concrete through educational seminars, conventions, full access to ACIs knowledge center, symposium papers, and journals; ACI Structural Journal, the ACI Materials Journal, Concrete International, and technical publications.

NIT joined the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT)

NIT has become an approved member of The American Society for Nondestructive Testing. ASNT is a nonprofit corporation focuses on technical education,research, section operations and certification. ASNTs headquarters in Columbus, Ohio and was founded in 1941 and currently boasts an individual membership of over 9,000 including more than 400 Corporate Partner affiliated companies. Members represent a diverse and dynamic family of professionals representing NDT technicians, engineers, researchers, vendors and academicians. All of whom are dedicated to improving product safety and reliability.

NIT joins IFTDO

National Institute of Technology has joined the International Federation of Training & Development Organisations (IFTDO) as a full member. IFTDO was established to develop and maintain a worldwide network committed to identify, develop and transfer knowledge, skills and technology to enhance personal growth, human performance, productivity and sustainable development

IFTDO is a diversified network of human resource management and development organisations linking HR professionals in HR societies, corporations, universities, consultancies, government organisations and enterprises.

NIT will gain access to world thinking and practices through the IFTDO global network, project and research. In addition, NIT will expand capabilities through exchanging strategies, techniques and technologies and participate in important HR events and developments conferences.

NIT Joins AWS -American Welding Society- as an Educational Institution Member

NIT has gained admission to the American Welding Society (AWS) as an educational member. The AWS is a multifaceted professional technical society in welding education and technology development that promotes the best practices and works to advance the science and application of welding, joining, brazing, soldering, cutting and thermal spray.

AWS has become the standard guardian to define welding quality including recommended practices, methods and guidelines for welding and allied processes.

As a member of AWS, NIT certification programs provide the industry with qualified welding professionals that meet international standards and whose training has encompassed the most recent advances in technology.
